I hope everyone is staying healthy and practicing their social distancing. The Governor’s Executive Order 20-04, which includes golf courses, has been extended. As of now and until May 1, especially the next 2 weeks, golfers are not allowed to be on the course. I understand the confusion with the wording in the order and the Governor encouraging people to still go outside and get some exercise. I also understand the frustration as you see some golf courses that are trying to stay open in a limited fashion (they’re not following the order). Violations of this order are punishable by up to a $1,000 fine per person that the golf course will not pay if people are found in violation and receive a ticket. Obviously, I will not be sitting at the course trying to enforce this. I just wanted to pass on the information that I have at this time. The Minnesota Golf Association is trying to push the Governor to loosen the reigns on golf courses and if I hear of anything changing I will let you know, or if any of you hear differently, please let me know. Again the closure has been extended to May 1. This is frustrating for everyone but stay safe and be patient. The grounds on the course are not quite ready yet anyway. I just wanted to send this out as I know the weather will start getting nice shortly.
Thank you,
Jay
